A Long Overdue Update on The Texas Millers!!!
Ok, friends! I know April was a long time ago! I have gotten several messages from some of you wondering where we are and if we are ok! We are mostly posting on Facebook these days. It doesn't take as much time to post a quick one liner on there as it does to make a long post on here!
We are doing great here in Texas! Loving our new friends and small church, too!
Richard is at the dentist this morning getting a tooth pulled! It is a back tooth and was hurting him badly. He has been on antibiotic and had extra strength Vicoden if he needed more than just Ibuprofen for over a week now. Hopefully he will soon be feeling better again! He keeps busy working 9-6 Monday through Friday and 9-4 on Saturdays. The sales have slowed down alot which has caused Richard to stress some. (Update at 4PM: He has to go back Friday to get stitches out as they had to cut his gums and pry his jaw bone apart to get out the last root! The dentist said it was the worst extraction she ever did! He is in alot of pain and is resting in the other room in case I need him. I am still manning or "womaning" the desk in his office for him!))
I am busy helping my man with odds and ends, keeping house, doing laundry, and everything else moms do! Our house is bigger and takes more to keep clean! Just this past week I got down on my hands and knees to scrub the big kitchen and dining room floor. I usually use a mop and it wasn't getting it as clean as I like. But I think something is out of place in my hand and wrist because it hurt me so bad for days afterwards!
JayBerry is having summer break right now from school. As soon as I let him have abit off we will start back up with school again. He loves for any excuse to drive the golf cart Richard uses at work!
He has been reading alot as we have a library nearby. He was studying about the civil war last week. Then this past weekend they were having a festival in town and he and I went to see what we could see! There was a section with cannons, guns, etc from the civil war! So he got an up close view of the real weapons they used! The guys were dressed up in uniform. too, which greatly impressed him!
He has 3 other boys near his age at church that make great friends for him. He was doing exercises the other day with some hand barbells and working out on the bike. I asked him why and he said he is trying to build up his muscles so he can beat one of the other boys in arm wrestling! LOL Love the competition he gets from them!
He is growing so tall! It is hard to keep him in pants! I was happy to find 4 pair of pants the other day at Goodwill in his size! They were only $2 because of the half price sale!
Richard's brother who lives with us continues to be a blessing to all. He has joined right in with the church and youth group here. He is really doing well and he and Richard are enjoying having each other around! I think Stan enjoys his big brother's encouragement in life, too.
We have thrown ourselves whole heartedly into our little group here and love each one. They nominated us to be assistants to the youth leaders from our sister church. We have joint youth meetings together. They consist of devotions, sharing, praying together one on one, caring for the struggling ones, labeling Bibles for China, etc. The youth just organized and planned out a grilled burger and hotdog supper for the dads last evening. They fixed and bought the food, sang the dads a couple of songs, and then played a game of softball- youth against the dads! Lots of fun! It was interesting to us as we watched them lead out and take care of all the details! We are getting ready to do a new thing with them where we help them decide what their goals are in life and help them to stay accountable and work towards becoming what God wants them to be. It means opening up our home at times for them to come and talk.
We meet once a week with another young couple and single woman and are listening to some teaching cds together. Then we spend time discussing them and helping each other work through the issues needing resolved! A real blessing as we nudge each other on towards a closer walk with God!
God has brought others in my life as well who need a listening ear, need prayed for and with. It is a blessing to see when God brings freedom! I rejoice at what God can do every time!
Several of us are planning a Mom's Being Kids Again Day this Friday at my house! You all want to come? Sounds like there will be hopscotch, bubbles, treasure hunts, popsicles, water fights, tree climbing, races, and a lollipop garden, four wheeling, princess hairdo's, and LOTS of LAUGHTER!! Us moms teaching the children how to do it by doing it with them! Sounds like fun!!!Come prepared to be a kid again!!! Have your kids bring their dolls. BRING YOUR OWN SACK LUNCH! Lemonade will be provided.
Well there you go, my friends, until the NEXT time! Love you all, Tina

| There is more than one way to get rid of the leaves since the wind didn't do it's job and take them away! Need to get them gone before we can mow the yard.

| Sometimes when God wants us to learn something he sends people to speak truth into our lives.
But sometimes, he allows people to speak their own ideas into our lives, not because he wants us to heed what they say, but because he has something completely different he wants to teach us.
And then sometimes, it seems it may be a mixture of both.
The hard part is sorting it all out. The "what if they are right?" stuff can drive a man insane. But confusion is NOT of God. And the answer to confusion is not just to agree with man. Man may or may not be right. The answer is to agree with God.
So if man tells you that you have a proud spirit (or whatever), God wants you to submit your will to him, not to man. Man may be telling you the truth, or he may be speaking out of his own sin. God's message to you might not be that you have a proud spirit (proud spirit was strictly used for an example). Or it might be. I cannot judge. But either way, God has something he wants you to hear. And he alone can tell you what that is.
Just remember, no man's words can send you or your family to hell. Ever. No man's words can change your relationship with Jesus Christ. Turn your eyes to Jesus. You have heard man, now seek to hear from God alone. Ask God what he wants you to learn. It may or may not be what man wants you to learn. I cannot tell. That is between you and God. So tune out man for a while. Wrestle with God. But do not confuse wrestling with God with wrestling with the condemnation of man. If there is condemnation of man, reject it as from Satan because that is where it comes from.
Remember, God does not condemn his children. He convicts them. And sometimes he uses frail, faulty man. But also remember this, sometimes the most powerful convicting from God, through man, is not even what man thinks is what it's all about. Sometimes it comes through false accusations even. But through it all, God knows, he cares, and he is there, ready to help you sort it out.
Again, you have heard man. Now turn your eyes to Jesus. Fix them upon him. Submit your will to Jesus. (And remember, man and Jesus do not always speak the same thing. That's why I said submit your will to Jesus, not to man.) There alone you will find the truth that will bring peace and comfort to your troubled soul.
I do not mean to be preaching.
My prayer is that my words are words of life. I know they are words of love, sent with hugs!
Later y'all...
Richard
